Everyone played Frostpunk 2 so well that they missed a secret disaster scenario. The developers had to spoil the surprise

The creators of Frostpunk 2 prepared for the worst, but something went wrong. It looks like someone underestimated the players’ skills

The launch of the Frostpunk 2 beta test, available only to owners of the game’s premium edition, was recently announced. It seems everyone is playing very well so far.

There are factions in Frostpunk 2: “As the City grows, enacting new laws becomes more complex. The people slowly divide into factions with different, often contradictory visions for the future.” A negative disaster scenario is tied to them.

The 11 bit studios team reviewed feedback from the beta participants and noticed that no one mentioned one very bad turn of events — when factions start waging war against each other. 

The Frostpunk 2 developers reached out to the community on social media and decided to reveal it themselves:

“If you perform poorly enough as the "Steward", there is a very small chance in the Frostpunk 2 beta that your factions will start a war [with each other].

It’s an extremely rare event, and so far we haven’t seen a single person mention it...”.

The full release of Frostpunk 2 is scheduled for July 25, 2024.
