RTS Men of War 2 received mixed reviews on Steam. The developers questioned negative reviews and urged interested players to try it themselves

Repeated delays clearly didn't help Men of War 2. The return of the famous franchise turned out to be controversial

Men of War 2 was recently finally released on Steam. The release date of the new title from studio Best Way was delayed multiple times.

Men of War 2 has “mixed” reviews — a noticeable portion of the community is not thrilled with what the developers delivered. Best Way drew attention to the fact that some gamers “figured everything out” about the game in mere minutes, casting doubt on such negative reviews:

“With that in mind, if you are still on the fence about getting Men of War II and trying it out for yourself, please take into consideration, when browsing through the reviews section, how much time some of the reviewers actually spent in the game; and whether an opinion formed after 0.5 hours of playtime can be considered fair and fully informed, as that is roughly how long a single battle lasts. With all the content and features available, which we talked about previously, it is impossible to experience everything and draw fair conclusions in such a short period of time”.

Part of the negative reception is also tied to Men of War 2 being strictly always-online, but the developers took the feedback into account and started working on an offline mode for single player even prior to release (its implementation “will take some time”).
