A new modding era has begun for The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt on PC. CDPR released REDkit tools and Steam Workshop support

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is supported not only by CD Projekt RED, but also by various enthusiasts. Working with mods can now be even more efficient

CD Projekt RED hasn’t forgotten about the acclaimed The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. They decided to take support for fan modifications to a new level — not only in terms of creating them, but also delivering these creations to other members of the community.

Until recently, fans of mods for The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt had to look for them on third-party platforms, but now CD Projekt RED has decided to take advantage of Steam’s capabilities (this does not replace familiar platforms like Nexus Mods).

In May 2024, Steam Workshop support was introduced for The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, allowing for more convenient mod distribution.

The developers also prepared a powerful tool for “The Witcher 3”, The Witcher 3 REDkit:

“We are building it using the same toolset that was used to develop the game, so it is meant to give mod creators almost limitless freedom”

The Witcher 3 REDkit will help develop custom mods; limited testing was previously conducted.
