Elden Ring expansion receives higher ratings than The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will offer a huge amount of content, just as CDPR once introduced many innovations in its final expansion for The Witcher 3.

CD Projekt Red expanded The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with two major stories. Released in May 2016, Blood and Wine received an average score of 92% and became the most famous and popular expansion to date. With the release of the Elden Ring expansion, everything is about to change.

At the time of publishing this note, according to Metacritic, Shadow of the Erdtree has 56 reviews and a score of 95%, while Blood and Wine has 52 reviews and 92%.

CDPR has repeatedly proven that it can release high-quality add-on content, as evidenced, for example, by the recent reception of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, which received 89%.

The result of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be hard to beat, and questions are already being asked — could the expansion win the “Game of the Year” award? At the moment, it is the highest-rated product of 2024.

However, it is worth noting that the base game has an even higher score — 96%.
