Medieval RPG Wartales to receive The Pits DLC with black markets and arenas in August. New screenshots and launch date

The sprawling RPG Wartales is steadily gaining new content. The developers are preparing to release another expansion focused on combat gameplay.

In July, the creators of Wartales revealed the game's development roadmap. They had scheduled the launch of The Pits DLC for August and intend to stick to the plan.

Screenshots recently appeared on The Pits DLC page, and the developers shared what players should expect from the Wartales expansion — players will head to black markets where the wealthiest thugs of the Five Kingdoms host secret battles:

“Battle in underground arenas for reputation, valuable rewards, and unique items. 25 carefully crafted tactical battles designed for true Wartales masters await you. These black markets are not just battlegrounds, as they will open your path to wealth and prestige.”

There will be an opportunity to prove yourself across five unique arenas in different regions, each offering five fully realized battles.

The developers promise unprecedented challenges, meaning even experienced players will need to devise optimal strategies. With each victory, your troop's reputation and infamy will grow, unlocking better weapons, consumables, and recipes on the black market. 

Unless anything changes, The Pits for Wartales DLC will be released on August 22, 2024.
