In an interview, Busche shared that the prologue of The Veilguard was designed to feel like the climaxes of other games.
“We wanted the prologue to feel like the finale of all our other games. It throws us right into the middle of the action in the city and immediately forces you to dive into the events and the story.”
Busche compared the opening of The Veilguard to the finale of Dragon Age: Inquisition, suggesting that the new game will surpass its predecessor in terms of scale and dramatic intensity.
“When I look back at Inquisition, with the sky literally tearing open, the impact of the ritual in the new game makes that event look like a minor inconvenience.”
BioWare describes Dragon Age: The Veilguard as the fulfillment of a promise made to fans after the conclusion of Inquisition. The studio is confident that the new installment in the series will not only meet players’ expectations but exceed them, offering an epic experience right from the start.
