“Microsoft made a Baldur's Gate 3-scale mistake.” Why is the smash hit Black Myth: Wukong still not on Xbox?

In recent days, Black Myth: Wukong has warmed not only the hearts of gamers, but also Steam servers. Following a great start on launch day, the Game Science game continues to climb the platform's popularity charts.

Initially, the Chinese studio focused on the PS5 and PC versions of the game, while the Xbox community will have to be patient. In June, Microsoft published a statement confirming that it is collaborating with Game Science to bring the game to American consoles. The mention of “agreements with other platform holders” led to speculation that Sony had secured a deal for a certain period of console exclusivity. But Forbes' Paul Tassi believes the issue lies elsewhere.

Black Myth: Wukong has likely not yet arrived on Xbox Series X|S due to a “technical issue” related to the Xbox Series S. The journalist stated that “the smallest Xbox in history” has once again challenged developers.

The journalist is convinced that this is a Microsoft misstep comparable to Baldur's Gate 3, which forced Xbox gamers to wait three whole months for the role-playing game to arrive. Back then, Larian Studios and the giant faced the challenge of getting split-screen co-op running on the XSS.

A few months ago, Game Science confirmed that it is in touch with Microsoft to reach a level of optimization that “meets the studio's standards.” Gamers once again have no choice but to wait patiently.
