The launch was far from successful, as eloquently demonstrated by the average score of 2.7 in the Meta* store and the fact that just four days after launch, the developers released a major patch introducing a number of minor and major improvements.
Players feel that the developers lied about the VR version, which could discourage those unfamiliar with virtual reality devices from ever using them again. The project looks terrible, and the mechanics promised by the creators are missing.
The announcement from XR Games best illustrates how the studio let players down:
“First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm shown during the release of Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded. For us, this was a passion project aimed at delivering a unique, unrestricted experience for fans of Hitman, VR, and Meta* Quest 3.
Following the launch, we have carefully listened to all your feedback and acknowledged that the game did not meet our high expectations. As a result, our teams are working hard to identify issues and resolve them as quickly as possible so that players can fully enjoy the game’s potential.
As part of our efforts to improve the game, we are already able to share the list of changes and enhancements included in the latest update. We are committed to refining the game so that it reaches the level of quality it deserves, and we will keep you updated on further fixes.”
