Frostpunk 2 reviews are in. The new release from 11 bit studios scored 86 out of 100 on Metacritic

The release of Frostpunk 2 was delayed, but it looks like the wait for the new game from 11 bit studios was worth it. There is no Denuvo, so the game has already been leaked online.

The full release of Frostpunk 2 is expected on September 20, while owners of premium editions are already playing. Reviews from various outlets have started  appearing online.

After several dozen reviews,  Frostpunk 2 scored 86 out of 100 on Metacritic. On OpenCritic the score is also 86 out of 100, with 96% of critics recommending the project.

Among the negative points, critics highlight performance issues on older PCs and note that the story mode of Frostpunk 2 feels very linear, though some changes resulting from player decisions are still present.

Otherwise,  Frostpunk 2 should please fans of the original: political factions are a great addition to the gameplay mechanics, the available options synergize well overall, and the graphics and soundtrack are quite good as well.

Some review scores:

  • GamesRadar — 4.5/5
  • Wccftech — 9/10
  • PC Gamer — 85/100
  • Windows Central — 4.5/5
  • IGN — 8 / 10

Frostpunk 2 is one of the most anticipated games (in the top 5 most wishlisted titles on Steam).
