The online shooter Concord was recently released and swiftly shut down. According to Kotaku journalists, the development team has some reasons for concern.
Concord game director Ryan Ellis has allegedly stepped down — he did so the week after the project's servers were shut down. However, he remained at the studio in a less prominent role.
Firewalk Studios employees do not yet know what will happen to the studio next — they are waiting to see what Sony decides.
The team's mood is pessimistic, and there is an opinion that Sony might reassign the studio to support one of its active projects. They also do not rule out a scenario involving mass layoffs or the complete closure of Firewalk Studios.
Some specialists are “not waiting, but preparing” — updating their resumes and exploring various options to continue their careers elsewhere. Others prefer to wait and see what Sony decides, and will then proceed based on the input received.
