NieR: Automata creator asked about collaboration with Stellar Blade. The reason for the crossover is not surprising

Gamers were recently surprised by an unexpected crossover between Stellar Blade and NieR: Automata. The announcement was made during PlayStation State of Play and sparked a wave of excitement among fans of both series.

The eccentric creator of NieR, Yoko Taro, known for his straightforward approach, commented on the collaboration in his characteristic manner.

“We are happy to say 'yes' to anything for money.”

The candid statement quickly went viral on the X platform, showing that Yoko is not afraid to mix business with humor.

The teaser during State of Play showcased Stellar Blade's protagonist, Eve, in an outfit inspired by 2B from NieR: Automata. Scenes of ruined cityscapes reminiscent of the NieR world sparked fan speculation about the collaboration.

Interestingly, earlier Yoko Taro not only agreed to the collaboration, but also praised the graphics of Stellar Blade, stating that they surpassed his own works. Such modesty and mutual respect between the creators of both games — Taro and Kim Hyung-tae — add charm to the whole venture.

Additionally, a photo mode has been announced for Stellar Blade, allowing players to capture Eve in her new 2B-inspired outfit. The unexpected marriage of two unique gaming worlds shows that there is still room in the industry for creative surprises, even if money remains the motivation.
