Space Marine 2 “speedran” Helldivers 2's story. Update 4.1 fixes the consequences of the previous one, test servers announced

The recent update for Warhammer 40000 Space Marine 2 caused a lot of backlash. Saber Interactive has responded.

The recent Update 4.0 for Warhammer 40000 Space Marine 2 contained several changes (nerfs) that led to review bombing. Users drew parallels with Helldivers 2, whose developers also “killed the fun.”

The creators of Warhammer 40000 Space Marine 2 acted faster than their industry peers—they rolled out Update 4.1, designed to fix the less successful decisions of version 4.0: enemy spawns will be reverted to pre-Update 4.0 levels; damage for various weapon models has been increased; bots deal 30% more damage to bosses; Tight Formation was removed; the full patch notes can be found here.

The game director of Warhammer 40000 Space Marine 2 announced test servers. Saber Interactive is expected to launch them in early 2025: “They will let you try out major balance updates and make your voices heard before [changes] are pushed to the public branches.”
