According to the company, as of the end of September, the Metal Gear series has reached total sales of 62.1 million copies. As of August last year, the series' sales stood at 60 million copies, which means another 2.1 million copies have been sold since then. It can be assumed that the majority of sales came from Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which was released in October 2023.
Metal Gear fans will also soon see the MGS3 remake Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, though it does not yet have a release date. Furthermore, Konami appears to have plans for a second Master Collection.
