Development of Marvel's Wolverine is in full swing. The loss of the game director did not halt development — rumor

The project, intended to become the next major game in the superhero universe from Insomniac Games following the success of the Spider-Man series, was announced in 2021. It garnered significant interest.

The main reason for recent concerns was the departure of creative director Brian Horton, who joined the team working on Perfect Dark at Xbox Game Studios in the summer of 2024. According to journalist Jeff Grubb, this should not significantly impact development.

“I think they will be totally fine with Wolverine,” Grubb stated, highlighting the studio's vast game development experience. He noted that Horton's departure might have been driven by his personal desire to try something new.

According to recent reports, Mike Daly, known for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, took the helm of the project. In addition, former game director Cameron Christian remains within Insomniac, supporting other studio projects.

The project experienced some disruptions, partly related to the 2023 Insomniac data breach, but development is reportedly in full swing. PlayStation is planning to showcase gameplay footage, which may indicate that development is progressing according to plan.
