In Showa American Story, the player is introduced to an alternative version of the United States with a strong Japanese flavor, where the country has become the subject of satire. The place known as Los Angeles is called “New Yokohama,” where the player wanders through “Neo Tokyo-4,” a place known as Austin, Texas.
“In a post-apocalyptic adventure inspired by 80s pop culture, the player follows a teenage girl who mysteriously rises from the dead and finds herself in a world teeming with zombies, monsters, and human survivors.”
Showa American Story is an action RPG in which the protagonist, Choko, travels across the country on a motorcycle and visits various locations, including an alternative version of Mount Rushmore. Along the way, she fights zombies and other creatures using swords, guns, and other weapons.

The game will be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5 and PC.
