Recently, an experiment with artificial intelligence generating Counter-Strike: Global Offensive gameplay went viral online. Another example of modern technology's capabilities has emerged, this time showcased through the well-known sandbox game.
Now artificial intelligence has begun to generate Minecraft gameplay, and it does so quite successfully. Several recordings showing working physics have been published online. Performance is still far from ideal, at around 20 FPS.
Everything shown in the videos below is gameplay generation; there is no game engine, code, or logic here.
At the same time, familiar mechanics from the “full” Minecraft game work: you can gather resources, eat, build, jump around, swim, dig a mine, torch light works, and so on.
A public online demo has been launched for the AI version of Minecraft, which can be found at the following link.
