The ranking is based on a poll conducted among readers from December 11 to 17. As expected, Monster Hunter Wilds for PS5 took first place. Second place went to Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake for Nintendo Switch, while Pragmata for PS5 rounds out the top three.
A surprise in the ranking was the entry of the classic remaster Donkey Kong Country Returns HD for Nintendo Switch into the top five. This shows that the platformer has an army of devoted fans.
The list also includes the remaster Suikoden 1 & 2 HD, which recently received a lot of attention from Japanese RPG fans. Closing out the ranking are Death Stranding 2, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
