The game was released in August 2021 on PC and Nintendo Switch, capturing players' attention with its unconventional concept and story. But, as with any experimental project, opinions were divided. Some users highly praised the plot and game elements, while others expected something else.
Road 96 is a story about a teenager trying to escape an authoritarian state. In 2022, the project was ported to Sony and Microsoft consoles, and now it is available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Road 96 can be played as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and standard Game Pass.
In 2023, DigixArt Studio released Road 96: Mile 0 — a prequel that combines elements of an adventure and rhythm game.
