Fans once again spot an unknown Valve game and build theories

While awaiting a new Half-Life, players are trying to find information in the most unexpected places.

In February 2025, the gaming community is once again restless. Some researcher enthusiasts are convinced they have discovered an “unknown Valve game.”

In the SteamDB database, it was spotted that Valve allegedly added some project, with a hidden entry appearing in late January; it may feature a multiplayer mode. The repository with the ID 3488080 received several updates across January and February, and a dedicated server was allocated for it.

Now fans are building theories—there is an opinion that this could be related to a project in the Half-Life franchise (HLX), while some joke about Ricochet 2 and Artifact 2.
