Sonic Rumble release delayed, but Sega promises improvements and new content

Sega has announced a delay in the release of Sonic Rumble, a Fall Guys-style multiplayer game featuring characters from the Sonic universe.

The game was scheduled for release in the winter, but it will arrive in the spring instead. The reasons for the delay have not been disclosed, but Sega promised that the project will receive additional mechanics, features, and content.

Sonic Rumble has been available in “soft launch” across 44 countries since 2024, but the global release has been postponed. Players with access will receive an update to version 1.2.0 featuring new modes, including Quick Rumble (fast-paced single-map matches) and Rival Rank (a competitive mode with extra rewards). Crews features offering bonuses for group play will also be introduced.

Sega will also add unique character abilities; for example, Amy will be able to stun rivals using her Piko Piko Hammer. These new features will be part of the global release.
