Mass Effect 5 game director celebrated the third installment's anniversary and amused fans with a cautious post

While waiting for the next installment in the Mass Effect franchise, fans look for clues in the most unexpected places. Developers understand this and try to clarify that there is no hidden agenda in their words.

In March 2025, fans are celebrating the anniversary of Mass Effect 3. The game director of the franchise’s new installment also joined the celebration.

Michael Gamble understands that his posts are closely monitored and people try to find hints everywhere, so he crafted his post to prevent speculation — which amused some fans:

“Happy Birthday, Mass Effect 3. This game means a lot to us.

I’m going to end it here. That way no one can say I deliberately teased them or generated a news story that hints at details for the next game.”

ghostofcody poked fun at the developer:

“Tomorrow’s headlines will read: "MICHAEL GAMBLE, MASS EFFECT GAME DIRECTOR, SAYS ME3 MEANS A LOT TO THE TEAM, HINTING AT A FULL TRILOGY REMAKE".”
