Death Stranding 2 has scenes that will make gamers throw controllers — Hideo Kojima's warning

The launch of Death Stranding 2 is approaching. Fans are anticipating “insane” gameplay elements.

The recent presentation of Death Stranding 2 On the Beach delivered not only a trailer and discussion topics, but also a cause for concern. Hideo Kojima has conceived something that might make players throw their controllers.

At the SXSW 2025 panel, Kojima stated:

“Higgs is not two or three times better — he became 100 times better than the version from the first Death Stranding. So, in the end, you’ll look at Higgs and say, ‘What is this?’ And you’ll probably throw your controller — that’s how ridiculous it is. I apologize in advance.”

Troy Baker, who plays the role, cryptically added: “Mission accomplished if you do.”

Kojima also spoke about the creative decision:

“Higgs was so popular last time that I thought, ‘I can’t kill him.’ So he’s coming back. But Higgs is not an ordinary villain. He is a beloved character. So I decided to raise the bar for this character two or three steps higher.”

The standard release of Death Stranding 2 On the Beach is expected on June 26, 2025, but there is an opportunity to gain early access via the premium edition.
