Even six years after its release, Free League continues to actively support the Alien tabletop role-playing game set in the universe of the film “Alien”.
A new crowdfunding campaign is set to launch on Kickstarter on March 25, through which the team will attempt to raise funds for an expanded edition of the tabletop game.
This edition will feature an updated rulebook with new maps, artwork, and revisions to talents, stealth, stress and panic mechanics, grenades, skirmishes, and other aspects of the game.
New ships, weapons, and locations from the film “Alien: Romulus” will be introduced. New rules and tools will also become available, such as a zero-gravity system, support for miniatures play, and an expanded campaign. Additionally, players will be able to try out a solo mode titled Last Survivor.
The expanded and revised edition of tabletop “Alien” will include the core rulebook, a starter set, the Rapture Protocol adventure module, and a miniature set (all materials are compatible with existing releases in the line). Furthermore, the new content will be made available across virtual tabletop platforms such as Alchemy, Foundry, Roll20, and Demiplane.
It is not yet known how much funding Free League aims to secure on Kickstarter, but during the first 48 hours, backers pledging for specific reward tiers will have a chance to receive a crew patch for the USCSS Fidanza tug ship, owned by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.
In Russia, the tabletop role-playing game “Alien” was published by Studio 101.
