Back in 2024, it became known that the Bombora publishing house had translated Jason Schreier’s book “Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future Of Blizzard Entertainment” and sent it for editing.
For a long time, the team shared nothing about this project with the public, but today Bombora finally revealed the cover of the book, which was titled by the publisher “Need More Gold: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment”.
In the near future, the book will head to print and become available for pre-order. According to Bombora, working on the cover proved to be a challenging task. The team tested several title and design options in search of the one that would best capture the essence of the book and attract readers.
The book is based on interviews with more than three hundred Blizzard Entertainment employees. It will tell the story of what happens when a ruthless pursuit of profit collides with artistic idealism.
Through it, readers will be able to learn why the company behind such classics as Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo faced PR disasters, mass layoffs, lawsuits, and more, and how Blizzard’s reputation was undermined.
