The GameInformer editorial staff notes:
“The performance mode allows running the game at 60 fps on a base PS5 without sacrificing the visual aspect.”
The developers clarify that the only noticeable downside is rare grass pop-in, but against the backdrop of the overall graphics, it is a minor detail.
Geoff Keighley, a journalist close to the studio and host of The Game Awards, also confirmed the availability of mode selection. He emphasized that this is a logical continuation of the approach used in Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, which already offered a similar choice.
“For many gamers, 60 fps is a must. And now they will be able to get it without compromises.”
