Nintendo will attend Gamescom in August

Nintendo has confirmed its participation in Gamescom 2025 — the company will return to Europe’s largest gaming expo after skipping last year’s event. The information appeared on Nintendo’s German social media channels.

Gamescom will take place in Cologne from August 20 to 24, 2025. It is not yet known exactly how the company will surprise visitors, but the main focus will most likely be on the Nintendo Switch 2 — the new console goes on sale on June 5.

We can also expect showcases of key releases for the second half of the year. Among them are Mario Kart World, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, as well as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kirby Air Raiders.

Plans for Gamescom are kept secret, but Nintendo’s participation suggests that the company is preparing a major presentation. Given the imminent launch of the Switch 2, the exhibition will serve as an important venue for promoting the console and its future hits.
