Players were recently reminded of Manhunt once again. Thanks to modern NVIDIA RTX Remix tools, a modder has assembled a remaster of the Rockstar project.
gabdeg presented the first version of the RTX mod for Manhunt, named “Manhunt Remixed”.
Textures were enhanced using PBRFusion 3.0. The modder placed light sources one by one: on objects or directly within the levels themselves. Since the original game’s light sources did not work with path tracing, they were removed. The level was then adjusted so that every part of it was sufficiently bright.
He also manually added emission maps to objects such as windows, monitors, neon signs, and signal lights. Thanks to this, path tracing should look good even in this early version of the modification.
The Manhunt Remixed mod is distributed for free via Mod DB.
