Recently, the developers of Path of Exile announced major changes. They were unable to find an effective DDoS protection solution for the "Moscow Gateway."
As a result, it was decided to hide the "Moscow Gateway," and now it is proposed to use a different option for connection:
«As part of the updates we are installing to support the live broadcast, we will hide the Moscow gateway and instead test a new Stockholm gateway, which we believe will generally improve the player experience.
Players connecting through the Moscow gateway had an average latency of 21 ms, while players from Russia using the new Stockholm gateway showed an average latency of 45 ms.»
The "Moscow Gateway" is not yet closed — it can be accessed as follows:
«If your gaming experience deteriorates significantly when using the Stockholm gateway, you can still access the Moscow gateway by entering mos.login.pathofexile.com:20494 for Path of Exile 1 and mos.login.pathofexile2.com:21273 for Path of Exile 2 in the gateway selection field, however, we do not recommend doing this. Unfortunately, stability issues on the Moscow gateway may persist, and this gateway will not be officially supported in the near future.»
