Unfrozen studio has revealed the sixth faction that players will be able to choose in the turn-based fantasy strategy Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era.
It is called Schizm. It includes mysterious monsters with unique abilities, and the gameplay for the faction is largely based on dealing damage that opponents will not be able to avoid.
More detailed information is not yet available, but a trailer is available demonstrating the faction in action. Schizm units look inspired by cosmic horror: many of the monsters are closer to the works of Lovecraft than to classic fantasy projects.
On Reddit dedicated to the series, the community reacted mostly positively. Users note that Schizm is very different from all previous factions, which shows that the developers want to preserve the spirit of the old games, but are not afraid to introduce new elements.
As a reminder, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will be released exclusively on PC. The release is scheduled for 2025 with cinematic localization and Polish subtitles.
