In September 2024, user JamesHui0522 drew the community's attention to the fact that Game Science had registered several trademarks.
In addition to Black Myth: Zhong Kui, the following were mentioned:
- Black Myth Jiang Ziya
- Black Myth Xiao Qian
- Black Myth Da Huang
- Black Myth Shan Hai
- Black Myth Sou Shen
It is assumed that these are not variants of the sequel's names that were reserved in advance, but are related to some global plans for the development of the Black Myth franchise.
