Monster Hunter Wilds was conceived as Capcom's next big hit — and at first, everything was going that way. The game was released with a bang, received high scores, and sold a huge number of copies.

But Capcom's latest quarterly report shows that player interest has plummeted. Only 477,000 copies have been sold in the last three months. The total was 10.8 million copies, but the publisher openly admitted that sales in the first quarter "fell short of expectations." The company makes no secret of the fact that this raises concerns about the future of the game.
The main reasons for the decline include poor optimization of the PC version and the lack of major updates that could keep players engaged. It is not yet clear whether the upcoming patches and new content support will change the situation. But Capcom hints that it will look for ways to restore the project to its former pace. According to them, Monster Hunter Wilds' potential is far from exhausted.
