Days Gone fans have been waiting for a sequel for a long time. Currently, the petition for Days Gone 2 has almost reached 240,000 signatures, but there has been no response from the company yet.
The game is considered one of Sony's most underrated, and interest in it is growing again, mainly due to the lack of a sequel. A trilogy was originally planned, but Sony did not support the idea. Instead of a sequel, the studio started working on a game-service, which was canceled, and about 30% of the employees were laid off. Despite this, fans have not lost hope.
The petition shows that the demand for a sequel is huge: almost a quarter of a million people are demanding Days Gone 2, not counting those who don't even know about the petition.
The situation is aggravated by Sony's approach: instead of a sequel, the company released a remaster of the original — something that fans did not ask for. This move caused a negative reaction, because the community clearly stated: they need a sequel, not a remake of the old game.
