Recently, Steam updated its rules and began removing games that "violate the rules of banks and payment systems." Various adult games were under attack.
One of the creators of such games under the nickname Fit-Commercial-5681 recently said that he had to pay a huge bill, and PayPal allegedly froze his funds "because I made an adult game."
According to the developer, his game earned about 80 thousand pounds sterling (almost 9 million rubles), but he cannot use the money — the account is frozen:
"This money was supposed to be used to pay a large corporate tax bill, which is due in August.
However, for more than 4 weeks, PayPal has refused to transfer MONEY to me. They interviewed me and asked where they came from. I said that they were received from the work of a programmer that I did in the field of video games. They asked me where the games were sold, and I said Steam. Then they asked me what the specific game was and demanded a link to the store page.
I gave a link to the store page, and when they realized that it was an adult game, they refused to give me the money. They also did not return it to the lead developer."
Fit-Commercial-5681 claims that the complaints did not produce results — he was informed that he "violated PayPal's terms of service."
Now he is trying to find out if this is legal, and whether it is possible to get the money earned.
