After a decade of existence, the story of Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius is coming to an end. Square Enix has confirmed that the mobile game will cease operations on October 31, 2025. This is the final closure of the project.
Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius launched in Japan in 2015, and a year later it became available in the West. During this time, it has been downloaded over 40 million times for iOS and Android. Despite regular updates and crossovers, it never reached the popularity of the main parts of the series. Western servers were shut down in 2024, but the Japanese version continued to exist.
Square Enix announced that a special "Grand Finale" campaign will start simultaneously with the server shutdown. After the project is completed, a commemorative edition will be available for iOS and Android users.
In an official statement, the developers thanked the community for their many years of support and invited players to enjoy the game until the very end.
