Nintendo has launched a new stop-motion animated series "It’s Me, Mario!", which can be viewed on the official YouTube channel. The first three episodes present funny adventures of a Mario figurine.
In the pilot episodes, Mario tries to tame unruly mustaches, reach for a hat lying on a high block, and plays with a Koopa Troopa shell that unexpectedly returns to him after bouncing off the wall. Each video lasts about a minute, and the humorous tone is primarily aimed at a young audience.
The animation will become part of the new "My Mario" product line, which includes toys, clothing, books and other merchandise featuring the Super Mario universe. The key product is a set of wooden blocks with franchise characters, which also function as amiibo figures for use in compatible games. "My Mario" products are already on sale in Nintendo stores in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, and part of the assortment will go on sale outside of Japan next year.
