At Gamescom, players and journalists were able to experience a fragment of Resident Evil Requiem. The excerpt may soon become available to a wider audience.

Initial feedback confirms the correctness of the chosen path. The demo, available at the exhibition in Cologne, received positive reviews from the press and fans of the series. The atmosphere, the return to the dark roots of the franchise, and the harmonious combination of nostalgia with new ideas were impressive.

Capcom acknowledged that interest is so great that the studio is "considering" releasing a demo to the general public. Similar steps have previously helped build hype before premieres.

There is no official announcement of the demo yet, but given the enthusiastic reception at the exhibition, the probability is high. If the studio decides to take this step, horror fans will get their first impressions of one of the most anticipated premieres of 2026.

In an interview, director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa emphasized the balance between new ideas and respect for the brand's history. They did not reveal details of the return of familiar characters, but promised surprises — old characters will meet the new protagonist, FBI agent Grace Ashcroft.

The action will once again affect Raccoon City, but the game will not be limited to this place. Requiem will offer new storylines and a standalone story, and the creators call the coincidence with the 30th anniversary of the series an accident. This is not a retrospective, but a completely new episode that can maintain the status of a major part of the franchise.
