Recently, the authors of Borderlands 4 released a new development diary dedicated to post-release support. The plans include not only premium, but also free content.
The first seasonal mini-event, Horrors of Kairos, is expected in October:
«Each event will bring changes to the gameplay — for example, a new type of weather — as well as new cosmetic items and legendary gear added to the world boss spawn list. These seasonal mini-events will be available for a limited time, so don't miss them!»
Bounty Packs with new missions, bosses, gear, and cosmetic content will be released for the game.
Story DLCs were also announced, the first one being «Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned,» which will be released in the first quarter of 2026.
Players will be offered the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode (endgame content) with several difficulty levels.
The release of Borderlands 4 is expected on September 12.
