But paid access mods continue to appear in The Sims 4, which annoys players. Despite the official EA rules, many authors keep their materials behind a paywall for months after release, violating established norms.

A user recently wrote about the problem on Reddit:

"According to EA rules, mods and user-generated content must become free after a reasonable amount of time. But some creators continue to keep them behind a paywall for several months. Should EA be stricter in enforcing its rules?" Wishieee noted.

Players cannot come to a consensus. Some consider such actions a violation, while others wonder why EA does not react.

"I think EA doesn't care. Many people have probably already complained," wrote RockingBib.

The main problem is not the violations themselves, but the lack of tools to fix them.

"I would like EA to take care of this in order to strengthen the community. For now, we can only accept it," added Bar_Sinister.

It is not yet known how the dispute over free mods will end, but the community continues to monitor the situation and hope for a favorable solution for the players.
