The technical director of Battlefield 6 acknowledges that such measures interfere with honest players, and he would like to do without such solutions.

In an interview, Christian Bull said that the team is pleased with the results of the Javelin anti-cheat — it protected the beta version of Battlefield 6 from hacking. But at the same time, some players were left without access: launching the game requires Secure Boot technology support, and if it is not available, you cannot play Battlefield 6.

"Honestly, I wish we didn't use features like Secure Boot. Some users' computers don't support it, and they are deprived of the opportunity to play. It's awful. I wish everyone could enjoy the game without fear of cheaters, and we didn't have to resort to such measures. But these are some of the most powerful tools we have."

He added that it is impossible to completely stop cheaters:

"It's a never-ending game of cat and mouse. But access to the kernel and Secure Boot make it much more difficult for cheaters and allow us to catch them more effectively."

According to him, EA continues to invest heavily in the development of Javelin and related technologies to make Battlefield 6 protection more reliable.
