Tekken 8 developers from Bandai Namco Entertainment have revealed potential guest DLC characters that were discussed.
During a recent panel, Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray answered questions about future guest characters. They noted that they considered Deadpool, John Wick, and others.
Harada explained that he wanted to add Deadpool to Tekken 8, but it proved difficult due to timing. Also, Marvel would likely have required including other characters as well, which would turn the idea into a one-off.
Murray mentioned that U.S. President Donald Trump even came up in discussion. According to him, it would be funny: some players would want to "beat up characters with him," others would want to "beat him up." But the corporate side of Bandai Namco forbade implementing this idea.
Murray also stated that he has long wanted to add John Wick to Tekken 8. In his opinion, the game has a unique atmosphere, unlike Hollywood action movies, but a character like Wick would fit in perfectly.
The team considered adding Mike Tyson, but Bandai Namco rejected the idea due to his criminal past.
