Valve starts banning the release of adult games on Steam in early access - developer talks about rule change
The authors of specific projects will not be able to take advantage of the popular model of launching games on Steam.
Recently, Steam conducted a large-scale purge of adult games that "violated the rules of banks and payment systems." Now there is information that moderation now only allows finished "18+" games.
Indie developer Dammitbird posted a screenshot of a response from Steam support, which was studying his game Heavy Hearts - he wanted to launch it in early access:
"Rejection: Your application has failed review as we are unable to support an Early Access model for the development of games with \"mature themes\". Please resubmit when your application is ready for release without Early Access."
