After numerous fan requests, another controller released in the second half of 2024 is making a comeback. The Astro Bot PS5 DualSense is scheduled for release on October 30, 2025.
The controller was released alongside the game Astro Bot but quickly disappeared from shelves. PlayStation will release a new batch, and pre-orders will begin on September 12, 2025, on PlayStation Direct and, as expected, at "participating retailers."
What's changed in the new Astro Bot DualSense? It's effectively a new version. PlayStation has dubbed it the "Joyful Edition." The eyes on the touchpad are now slightly curved upwards, giving the impression that the controller is "happy to see you." Previously, the eyes were simple blue circles.
The change is minor, and the color scheme remains the same. Those who liked the controller but couldn't acquire it last year will have another chance.
