The project's anniversary is celebrated in style.
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 will be one year old on September 9. Shortly before this, the developers presented the Anniversary Update.
Saber Interactive talked about the new features and noted that they presented "more free content than ever before in a single update, covering all possible aspects of the games."
The update includes:
- New "Whirlwind" operation with a new boss — a whirlwind beast of mutants
- New PvP arena "Bridge", which takes place on Avarax
- New PvE mode called "Stratagems", introducing daily and weekly game modifiers
- New PvP mode "Helbrute Onslaught" with Helbrute, which you can play as!
- 3 new weapons (Pyreblaster, Pyrecannon, Power Axe) and several new versions of old weapons, such as a xenophase blade, combi-melta, or double-edged chainsword
- New Majoris-level enemy: Spawn of Chaos (in three variations)
- A set of six unique Chaos Champion skins that can be unlocked in Eternal War mode
- Many quality of life improvements and appearance modification options: for example, the ability to use champion skins as individual cosmetic items for any game class
