On Nintendo Switch 2, the game is available in a special way: purchasing the Switch 1 version gives a free upgrade to Switch 2. The developers didn't just limit themselves to a simple port and fully unlocked the potential of the new console.
Switch 2 players will get two modes: 2160p/60 fps or 1080p/120 fps in docked mode; handheld mode is 1080p/120 fps by default. Switch 1 is stable at 60 fps and 720p, with slightly lower quality graphics. At the same time, Switch 2 wins in loading speed – loading screens are almost twice as short.
A comparison with Steam Deck shows clear differences. In docked mode, Deck supports over 120 fps at 1440p, but in handheld mode, Switch 2 wins thanks to its 1080p/120 fps screen, while Deck is limited to 800p/90 fps (OLED) or 60 fps (LCD). Deck loads levels faster, but visually Silksong is better and smoother on Switch 2. The choice depends on preferences: maximum performance on TV – for Steam Deck, mobile comfort – for Switch 2.
