Mafia: The Old Country Sells Almost Six Times Better on PS5 Than on Xbox — Analysts
An analytical company reported that the main platform for Mafia: The Old Country was PlayStation 5, where the game sold almost twice as well as on PC, and on Xbox, its sales amounted to only about 10% of the total circulation.
The launch on Steam did not lead to a massive influx of players, and the project's performance drew sharp criticism. However, the game received 74 points on Metacritic — not outstanding, but an acceptable result, which still deterred some of the audience from buying.
According to Aliena Analytics, Mafia: The Old Country sold in the following volumes:
- PS5 — approximately 643,000 copies;
- Steam — 337,000 copies;
- Xbox — 117,000 copies.
PlayStation 5 accounts for more than half of all sales. The total circulation is estimated at approximately 1.2 million copies, which is not too much by the standards of the series, but the gap between consoles is impressive.
