Helldivers 2 developers also noticed that the game has "gained weight" — Arrowhead intends to reduce the size of the game files
Recently, the game client has started to take up significantly more space on drives.
A major update was recently released for Helldivers 2. Soon, players began to complain not only about the technical problems that arose, but also about another point — the weight of the game.
Users noticed that in some cases it began to exceed 140 GB. One tech enthusiast conducted an analysis and found out that this is due to the duplication of game assets — one thing in the files can have more than a hundred copies and their total weight can be several GB.
Head of Arrowhead Game Studios Shams Jordani responded to complaints in the game's Discord channel — they are aware of the problem:
"We have prioritized this task [reducing the size of the game files]. However, I cannot say when it will be resolved."
