The Wolfenstein series is one of the key series in the history of video games. In recent years, MachineGames has focused on the adventures of Indiana Jones, which has temporarily pushed back the return to the story of B.J. Blaskowitz. But there have long been rumors that the developers were planning to complete the modern Wolfenstein trilogy.
The leaks have been confirmed. The head of MachineGames stated that the trilogy was planned from the very beginning, and Blaskowitz's path was thought out in advance.
Important news appeared in the NoClip material: the developers want to return to Wolfenstein and complete the story they started.
Head of MachineGames studio:
"We always saw it as a trilogy [Wolfenstein]. B.J.'s path, even in the first weeks of planning New Order, was thought out. We knew what would be in the second part and what would happen in the third. I think it's worth emphasizing: we're not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell."
In this situation, Wolfenstein 3 looks like only a matter of time. There were already rumors about the development of the game, but the project was suspended due to MachineGames' full focus on the adventures of Indiana Jones.
There is also a "Wolfenstein" series on the horizon, which may allow Microsoft to use both projects mutually: the game will attract attention to the series and vice versa.
