Two major PS5 exclusives may soon appear on other platforms. According to insider NateTheHate, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on Switch 2 and Xbox Series in 2026, and the Silent Hill 2 remake will become available on other platforms after the end of its temporary exclusivity in October.
NateTheHate reported on social media that Square Enix plans to release Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox Series S|X and Nintendo Switch 2. On Switch 2, the game will supposedly use DLSS technology. Xbox owners will be able to play as early as next year. The Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade version will be released on Switch 2 in the winter of 2025, with the exact date to be announced at the next Nintendo Direct.
As for the Silent Hill 2 Remake, the insider noted that announcements for other platforms are possible only after the end of the Sony exclusive. "Any announcements cannot be made until the exclusive agreement with Sony expires in October," — Nate stated. The game by Bloober Team and Konami was released on PS5 and PC in October 2024. A version for Switch 2 is still in question due to the peculiarities of Unreal Engine 5, and an Xbox release looks more likely.
