DICE and Electronic Arts are offering Battlefield 2042 players the opportunity to earn content for Battlefield 6. Those who don't have time to spend on the old game can pay for it.
Battlefield 2042's popularity has once again attracted gamers to DICE's servers. The reason is additional content for the upcoming Battlefield 6, which can be earned by playing the previous installment. This is a way to capitalize on the hype after the open beta tests of the new game.
DICE released an update with a free Battle Pass in Battlefield 2042, including rewards for Battlefield 6. Players who leveled up gained access to items for the new game even before its release. The effect was immediate - the number of players in 2042 increased by more than 500%.
Those who don't want to spend time grinding were offered the Tier Skip feature: for money, you can skip Battle Pass levels and immediately receive rewards for Battlefield 6. The Battle Pass remains free, but purchasing level skips requires payment. The exact amount has not been disclosed, but considering the amount of cosmetics for BF6, it will be noticeable.
Using Tier Skip is completely optional: no one forces players to spend money or hours on the game, all rewards are cosmetic and do not affect gameplay.
Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and the update for 2042 with the Tier Skip feature will be available from September 9.
