Click Adventure was released on PC on Steam this summer. The cheap and seemingly simple clicker turned out to be a dangerous hacker tool.
Users began reporting that their accounts had been robbed — money began to disappear from Steam wallets; the attacker managed to bypass the Steam Guard authenticator.
The community was still able to draw Valve's attention to this problem. In September, sales of Click Adventure were discontinued and the page was removed from the store.
Some affected players complain that they have not yet received their money back.
Fragment of Valve support response: "...all transactions on the Community Market are not subject to cancellation or refund. When selling or purchasing items on the Community Market, the commission is transferred directly from the buyer's Steam wallet to the seller's wallet. Canceling a transaction means that we will have to remove funds and items from the wallets and accounts of both parties, which will create chaos throughout the Steam Community Market."
